Maleficent is a 2014 American fantasy thriller film directed by Robert Stromberg and starring Angelina Jolie as the title character. The story focuses on the Sleeping Beauty story, but from the perspective of the villainous Maleficent.
MY REVIEW
I gave 10/10 for this movie. Angelina Jolie is the most beautiful in this movie compare to her previous action movies. So do the younger and teen version of Maleficient. Love the other character as well.
If people want me to choose which version of Sleeping Beauty I will tell my future child, I will choose this Maleficient version. Why? This version have many value compare to traditional Sleeping Beauty
1. Trust – Malefient believe in Stefan and always think positive about him until one day when he take away her wings.
2. Patient / Anger Management – Sometime when we were angry, we tend to do something that will make us regret it in the future. Since she hold a revenge again Stefan, Maleficient cursed that the Princess Aurora will sleep forever and only will wake up through true love kiss. After she spent more time with Princess Aurora (basically she’s the one watched over her since she was a baby although the King assigned the 3 clumsy fairy to take care of her), Maleficient feel love and care for her. She tried to took back the curse but fail.
3. No love can beat Mother’s love – My childhood version of Sleeping Beauty was the handsome prince charming will save the princess and gave her the kiss then she’s woke up. It different with this Maleficient version. The handsome Prince Philip can’t wake Princess Aurora. (frankly speaking, during the movie, when Prince Philip fail to wake her up, I thought it might be the handsome guy (black bird)). Surprisingly, its forehead kiss by Maleficient broke the cursed. Well, Maleficient already paly a mother figure for Princess Aurora.
4.Happily Ever After will not come easily into our life. We must do our best to obtain it.
